PRECITA PARK NEEDS LOVE:
Precita Park has been identified as one of 30 parks that needs some love. The Neighborhood Parks Council, is kicking off a "Love My Playground" campaign and would like a liaison for Precita Park to advocate for improvements to our park and city playgrounds in general.If you are willing to volunteer to attend the kick off event April 28th at Balboa Playground and be recognized as a community leader for PVN, please attend the meeting Sat. or contact David Robinson at 285 5957.
GREENING THE WEST END OF PRECITA PARK:
Gardens for the Environment would like to work with PVN to improve the plantings in the concrete beds at the west end of Precita Park. Please come meet Barbara and other neighbors and we'll form a plan to beautify the west end.MUSIC IN THE PARK:
Its time to plan for the 2007 Music In the Park event in Precita Park. If you are interested in volunteering to help with the planning of the event, please attend the meeting or respond to this email.CRIME:
We will discuss recent criminal activity in the neighborhood. REMINDER: Always leave nothing in your car. Thieves will break your windows just to get a better look at what might be there. SFPD advise leaving your car completely empty when you are not in it.APRIL ANNOUNCEMENTS:
IMPROVEMENTS TO LEONARD FLYNN SCHOOL:
Congratulations to Principal Charles Addox and the teachers, staff, parents and students on their continuing and successful efforts to improve the school site. Volunteers recently completed a project to improve the playground. Flynn is an exciting school right now, and a very positive force in our neighborhood!PROTRERO DEL SOL AND ROLPH GROUNDBREAKING:
There will be a groundbreaking ceremony for the new skate park and other improvements to these two, soon to be fabulous, parks on Friday, May 4th at 3:30 in Potrero del Sol Park. Contact Jeanne Darrah 285-5957 for more information.GARFIELD PARK GROUP FORMED:
The Neighborhood Parks Council has been working with neighbors around Garfield Square to form a group to take care of the park. If you would like to get their announcements and/or join the group please contact Chloe Good at 621-3260 at NPC or cgood@sfnpc.org.NPC PARK STEWARDSHIP AWARDS LUNCHEON:
The Neighborhood Parks Council awarded PVN $2500 last year at this luncheon--it is free--although they do make a request for contributions at the event. It is always fun and inspiring to hear about projects going on throughout the City. The Luncheon is on Tuesday, May 22nd at noon at the UCSF Mission Bay Center at 1675 Owens Street. Instead we had a WORK DAY/CLEAN UP DAY in Precita Park on Saturday 3/24, 10:00 AM.
Activities on March 24th included:
* Planting and weeding the Butterfly Garden surrounding the Play Area
* Garbage clean-up in Precita Park
* Garbage clean-up in the Precita/Alabama triangle

Police Blotter
Due to neighborhood complaints of drug use and loitering, Officers Chad Campos and Victor Hui saw an occupied suspicious vehicle. They arrested the occupant, who lives in Daly City, for possession of marijuana and for contributing to the delinquency of a minor by furnishing a minor some marijuana. Case #070363145
